Howden Africa Compressors & Turbines Division is looking for a Junior Project Engineer to plan, cost, coordinate, and manage assigned Workshop Repair and Field Services projects for the overhaul, repair, revamp, manufacturing, installation, and modernisation of rotating equipment. Lead Howden project coordination to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction with our services and equipment. Coordinate the interface between the client and the various groups within Howden involved in the quotation, contract review, order entry, staffing, purchasing, execution, invoicing and collections. The position will be based in Cape Town.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…Professionally manage assigned territory to achieve identified key objectives which are:Pro-actively promote and sell Howden products and services when customer visits the office.Provide feedback and direction to any Howden department on all matters of opportunity, competition, loss, change, problem of market intelligence, and strategy for territory.Develop strong, long-term business relationships with customers.Act as single point of contact when required on difficult company problems with customers to coordinate complex customer problems internal and external.Load and manage projects in AX.Utilize Howden software/reporting systems. Responsible for all administration related to the Project manager function in order to meet agreed standards by:Ensuring tenders are complete in accordance with clients' requirements.Ensure all required tender registers are completed and kept up to date.Verifying order against tender for required delivery and conditions of sale.Complete Contract sheets in accordance with Client and Howden requirements.Ensure proper documentation.Constantly communicate with clients to update them on progress of contract in accordance with procedures.Communicate internally with Quality, Engineering, and Projects to ensure that they comply with client requirements.Comply with ISO9000, OCHSA 18000, and ISO14000.Ensure CRM is updated and kept up to date.Determine how best to deploy all Howden resources in order to maximize bookings & profitability.Receiving of goods in the branch.Your Education Should Be…Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Your Professional Experience Should Be…Minimum 3 years' project management experience.Technical knowledge of Rotating Equipment, Reciprocating Compressors, Gas Compressor Engines & Steam Turbines.Knowledge of quality management systems and EHS practices and requirements.Customer-facing experience and strong communication skills a must.Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Projects.A valid Code 08 driver's licence.
