We look forward to getting to know you.Full time/ part time - unlimitedYour contribution to the energy transitionThe Project Development Unit predominantly develops utility-scale solar, wind, and hybrid projects to be bid in the REIPPPP (or other sovereign backed programs in Africa) or used as the basis of possible utility scale embedded or wheeling projects in the future. As a Junior Project Development Manager, you will be required to manage various projects and the development tasks necessary. Depending on each market and business model, these tasks variously include site selection, land acquisition, plant layout, permitting, and the commercial negotiations for the sale of equity and procurement of goods and services. These tasks cover the development phase through financial close to construction phase support. You will also be asked to assist with some general team administration tasks, providing a limited amount of redundancy to the Team Assistant.Your tasks as a Junior Project Development ManagerProject Development ManagementProject management of multiple wind, solar, and hybrid projects in various stages of development, ensuring completion within budget and on schedule:Develop an understanding of the relationship between site selection, technical design and project economics in order to be able to develop the best possible projects (optimised at capex or tariff level)Using GIS and other tools, assisting in the identification of project sitesAssisting with landowner negotiationsEstablishment and management of the project budgetAssisting with plant design tasks including turbine, PV array, road and electrical layoutsManagement of the various project licensing tasks including liaising with the statutory organisations that administer the various approvals and permits necessaryAssisting with procurement of construction commoditiesAssisting with procurement of key componentsAssisting with investor selection processesAssisting in tender submissionsAssisting with high level financial modelling processesProject risk mitigation and reportingRecording and reporting of project progressProject development support to the C&I Sales, EPC Sales and Hybrid Sales teams; depending on the particular project, such support being varying combinations of the above tasksParticipation in project and programme reviews when requiredGeneral assistance to the DepartmentAssistance across a variety of tasks including:Permit applicationsInvoice processingProject scheduling and costsParticipation within meetings and preparation of meeting minutesMaintenance of electronic and hard copy filing system incl. virtual dataroomsOccasional travel to established and potential project sites across the countryProvide general administration support to the Project Development team, e.g., summary of documents, investigate/track competitor movements, etc.You may also be asked to participate in field trips and renewable energy (RE) related seminarsYour energy is requiredYou impress us with these qualifications:Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Environmental Science is preferableExperience in Engineering, GIS or Environmental Science through tertiary education/apprenticeship training will be an advantageExperience:Background knowledge in the field of renewable energy will be preferable, particularly a conceptual understanding of wind and solar energyProficiency in MS Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required, while knowledge and proficiency in GIS Packages such as Google Earth, ArcGIS or similar will be an advantagePersonal Attributes:A good team playerExcellent oral and written communication skills in English, whilst an additional local language will be an advantageThorough and diligent in your workSelf-motivated, proactive and reliableAble to work under pressure and independentlyEffective and efficient organizational skillsAble to manage different tasks simultaneouslyHave a keen interest in the renewable energy industryHigh degree of flexibility is essential as overtime may be required during busy periodsIntercultural understanding and the ability to work within an international work environment are importantYou have more to offer?
