Upmarket restaurant in Northern Suburbs requires a Junior Pastry Chef with experience in the role.Subject to agreed criteria and under the control of the Head Pastry Chef, responsibility for planning and pricing menus, preparing and cooking of the pastry section of the kitchen to adhere to agreed prices/budgets and maintain applicable quality standards.
Responsibility to staff and direct the team:To be responsible for the preparation and cooking for the pastry section of the kitchenAssist Head Pastry Chef to plan and price menus and food to adhere to agreed prices/budgets and maintain applicable quality standards and recordsAssist and assume responsibility as directed for ordering and obtaining supplies for the pastry section of the kitchenFor ensuring sufficient team members at all times and within agreed budgetsQuality control of all supplies, food, kitchen hygiene and safetyAssist your Line Manager to meet your targets and those of the team as a whole and contribute to the smooth running of the of the teamAdhere to statutory obligations and agreed quality and best practice guidelinesDay to day responsibilities for the team as agreed with your Line Manager to include:Ensuring compliance to sanitation, hygiene, health and safety legislation and organizational and quality requirementsCo-ordinate food preparation relating to the pastry section of the kitchenPrepare and cook food relating to the pastry section of the kitchenEffective liaison, support and assistance with the remainder of organisationSet an example for team members of commitment, work ethic and habits and personal characterNon Negotiable:Must have at least two years experience in same roleOwn reliable transport as estate is not on public transport routeAble to work shiftsMust be fluent in EnglishSouth African citizenAble to start immediately or within two weeksAble to work a single shift to show skillsetWhen applying please submit Head and shoulders pictureAll necessary certificatesAny photos of work done
