Someone who is not scared to get stuck in, get innovative, all whilst being super-attentive to details. Your primary focus will be the expansion/deployment and maintenance of our ever-growing GPON and access network. We need someone who can proactively problem solve and oversee the activities involved in quality resolution of complex technical issues, responding with an appropriate sense of urgency to problems escalated to the Network Engineer's level. Whilst this is a standard Monday to Friday, 8 to 5 job, we pride ourselves on exemplary customer service and will need you to provide support on a rotational shift basis in order to achieve this. One of the many things that sets us apart is the service level that our clients have come to expect, appreciate, and love.Job Duties:Rollout access network according to predefined standardMaintain existing access networksRollout and maintain GPON networkImplement monitoring systems to track the networkProactively action and address items which might affect network performanceHelp design and implement low-latency, high-availability networksAction tickets or faults highlighted by NOC or customersAnd any other reasonable taskRequirementsCompleted CCNA is preferred2+ years working within an ISP based environment in a similar positionExperience and knowledge of Cisco routers and switches (IOS)Experience and knowledge of Juniper routers and switches (JUNOS)Experience and knowledge of Extreme Networks switches (EXOS)Experience and knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting (IPv4 & IPv6)Experience and knowledge of Routing protocols including BGP and OSPFExperience and knowledge of MPLS and Metro Ethernet protocolsExcellent analytical and troubleshooting abilityBasic knowledge of Linux ServersExperience and knowledge of Radius (AAA)Experience and knowledge of consumer connectivity protocols (DHCP and PPPoE)Experience and knowledge of ExcelBasic knowledge of VMWare and virtualizationValid driver license and own transportProficiency with source-control tools (GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.)Experience working in an entrepreneurial environmentFamiliar with monitoring systems/tools e.g. Netdata/Zabbix/IrisBenefits:Reduced Gap Cover Rates (Turnberry Premier)Retirement Annuity Contribution (Allan Gray)Medical Insurance (Momentum - Health4Me)Discounted Internet ConnectivityFree Employee Wellness Programme (ICAS)Free barista prepared coffee and snacks from our in-house cafe.Exposure to latest industry technologies and standardsA work environment that rivals the very best!If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of submitting your application, please consider your application as unsuccessful.
