The Technical Workshop Manager will oversee workshop operations, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and servicing of trucks, trailers, machinery, and equipment.
This role includes managing staff, ensuring efficient processes, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and performance.
Position: Technical Workshop Manager Industry: Transport / Logistics Location: Pretoria North - Gauteng, South Africa Salary: Market related Qualifications & Experience: Certified diesel mechanic or equivalent qualification.Minimum 5 years of workshop management experience, specifically in taut liner/side tipper maintenance and repair.In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
Proficiency in workshop management software.Strong leadership and communication skills for effective interaction with teams, clients, and suppliers.Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.Excellent organizational and time management skills for multitasking and handling projects.Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.Key Responsibilities: Manage and supervise workshop staff, including mechanics, technicians, and support personnel.Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring high work quality and efficiency.Provide technical guidance and support to staff.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.Plan and coordinate work schedules ensuring optimal use of resources and timely completion of jobs.Ensure that all work meets quality and safety standards.
Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed work.Monitor and manage inventory levels of tools, equipment, and parts, order supplies as needed and maintain accurate records.Liaise with service providers to ensure they understand the Company's needs, provide service as per the SLA, and ensure customer satisfaction.Implement and enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring regulatory compliance.Develop and manage the workshop budget, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations.Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and other relevant documentation.
