Core Purpose of Job:
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will be part of a team that manages key clients and projects in the mining/infrastructure projects. The specific engineering responsibilities include developing and inputs into studies, designs, coordination, and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope.
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will report to the respective project Lead Mechanical Engineer and assist with calculations, designs and developing equipment data sheets, acquiring vendor information and is expected to participate and contribute to design reviews. The Junior Mechanical Engineer will also be expected to draft designs in CAD, when required.
Key Performance Areas
Perform and check detailed design in accordance with appropriate standards and specifications.
Effectively convey current progress and problems on a project, together with the required solutions.
Draughting of information for proposals, as directed by the lead engineer, in CAD.
Ensure that works is executed and constructed to the drawings and specifications.
Monitor progress of construction and ensure project built to specifications.
Equipment selection and recommendation after detail option consideration.
Preparation of equipment data sheets and technical packs.
Obtain vender pricing for estimates and budgets.
Compile Technical Reports including technical adjudication reports
Review of drawing office work for accuracy.
Provide technical input to proposals as directed.
Present proposals to Clients, as required.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
BSc/BEng/BTech (Mechanical)(Minimum)
Experience:
2+ Years Proven working experience in the mechanical / consulting industry with project experience in mechanical / mining projects
Must be fully computer literate in MS Office
AutoCAD / Inventor / Navisworks experience
Person Requirements Core Competencies:

Proficient in Autocad, Inventor (2D/3D)
