Our client designs, builds and certifies hazardous area enclosures and equipment.
They are based in the United Kingdom, but this role will be based in Century City, Cape Town.The role supports the development of new platform products and sub-systems, and custom solutions based on the existing product portfolio.
Products in development are specialist hazardous area systems used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and oil & gas industries.For the position you would be required to have: Minimum of Matric/ Grade12Diploma/Degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum of 5 years' mechanical engineering design experience of technical productsKnowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001) and technical drawing standardsSolidworks experience will be a definite advantageSound understanding of fabrication techniquesWillingness to work UK hours (SA - 2 hours)Responsibilities would include you to: Create detailed manufacturing drawings and general arrangement drawings from 3D CAD models using Solidworks 3D CAD software.To carry out 3D modelling of products with support and direction from senior engineers.Support global company manufacturing sites with development of manufacturing and assembly instructions.To support resolution of design related manufacturing challenges with company manufacturing sites.To Design for Manufacture, Design for Assembly and Design for Service.Liaise with Compliance team and Certification agencies to ensure product designs conform to all required regulations and standards.Develop own personal technical competence.Keep up to date with changes to applicable global legislation.Accurate creation and maintenance of product BOMs (Bills of Material) in the company ERP system.Work alongside other engineering functions (e.g.
Electrical & Electronic Engineering) to ensure mechanical, electrical, electronic and pneumatic elements of each product are carefully integrated.Identify and contribute to the creation of documentation required (user manual, technical documentation) for new designs.Undertake Engineering Change Requests as required.Support development of departmental processes & best practise Package negotiable up to R50k per monthPlease apply online or contact Jan van Dyk on 021 – 531 2015 for more information
