Reporting to the Investment Strategist and Portfolio Manager at Asset Management, who are responsible for the management of a range of multi-asset funds, employee benefit solutions and global equity fund of fund offerings.Minimum requirements:B Com Hons degree (or similar) in Economics or Econometrics (preferably) or Investments/Finance and with CFA level I already passed.Minimum 18 - 24 months experience in economic/econometric analysis (preferably) / investments and asset management.Strong excel skills (v-lookups, formulas, regression analysis, basic coding etc.)LSEG Datastream / Bloomberg knowledge would be an advantage.Strong interest in and good working knowledge of the global economic and geo-political landscape; trends and challenges.Strong interest in and good working knowledge of domestic and offshore financial markets, trends, opportunities and challenges.Responsibilities:Working with the relevant portfolio manager; providing research/analysis and reporting input on the following (including but not limited to):Global macro-economic research (on variables such as economic growth, inflation, interest rates etc.) for input into the portfolio managers and the cam teams wider macro-economic research efforts. This will entail the building of models to forecast for example US, European and Chinese GDP, inflation etc.A variety of financial market variables (e.g., equity markets, bond markets, property markets, currency markets etc.) for input into the portfolio manager and teams decision-making frameworks. The successful candidate will, for example, also work with senior members of the team to build valuation models at asset class level, for example, for the following asset classes: SA Bonds, US Bonds, SA Equity, US Equity, EM Equity etc.Work with the portfolio manager regarding daily portfolio management activities on a variety of multi-asset funds/portfolios and global equity fund of funds.Working with the portfolio manager regarding reporting and presentations to various parties (including wealth advisors, clients etc.) and at different forums.Analyse the global economic landscape and financial markets in order to highlight risks and opportunities.Assist the portfolio manager with portfolio management tasks and responsibilities.Reporting and queries.Administration.
