Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Industrial Engineer with a passion for data analysis and a keen interest in understanding and improving transport and supply chain operational processes. This role is for an individual who has a passion for analysing data with the aim of generating operational, tactical, and strategic insights through collaboration and business understanding with key stakeholders.
The role also involves supporting senior engineers in optimizing systems, improving processes, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency in the logistics operations.
Within the Continuous Improvement team, this individual will have exposure to a wide range of teams and operational environments as well as different types of projects.
The ideal candidate will be seeking to grow their own skillset whilst also growing within the team and establishing themselves as a change driver in the business.
Minimum skills and knowledge required
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (BEng preferred) or related field.
1 to 2 years of experience in Industrial Engineering within a logistics or supply chain environment.
Knowledge of industry best practices and trends.
Experience with data analytics and BI tools (PowerBI preferred).
Strong analytical skills, displaying passion for data analysis and problem-solving.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, MATLAB, Python, or similar).
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Able to work well with a team and under pressure.
Sense of urgency and ability to manage timelines well.

Process Improvement
Work closely with senior CI engineers and operational teams (where applicable) to identify opportunities for process improvement.
Apply lean methods and tools to derive recommendations for increasing efficiency and improving processes.
Conduct time and motion studies, process mapping to analyse workflow and productivity.
Develop a deep understanding of operational processes before initiating problem-solving activities.
Project Management
Build your own capability to manage projects from project definition and scoping to completion.
Support senior engineers in the planning and execution of CI projects.
Technology and Data Integration
Gain a thorough understanding of the systems used in the logistics environment.
Learn how data is integrated into a data warehouse for analytics and reporting purposes.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Utilise data analysis tools and methodologies to analyse operational and Control Tower data, assess performance metrics, and derive actionable insights.
Identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement through data insights.
Demonstrate a keen interest in understanding operational processes and key requirements before engaging in data storyboarding or analytics.
Assess Control Tower gaps in operational, tactical & strategic reporting, understand the detailed requirement and implement applicable reporting to answer to its needs.
Work with the Continuous Improvement team to improve on data visualisation and reporting capability of the company to enable decision making in operations.
Cross-functional collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Control Tower team, CI team members, logistics operational teams, and potentially external clients to implement best practices.
