Core RequirementsYour National Diploma in Graphic Design plus minimum 5 years experience as well as: Advanced business communication skills enabling verbal and written communication in English at all levels;Strong working knowledge of Adobe Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator);Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel);Fully skilled in Lightroom and Photoshop;Knowledge of layouts;Be a creative thinker with initiative - able to translate job briefs into design concepts;A broad understanding of the following languages would be advantageous:PHP: Core language for server-side functionality, retrieving data from the database, processing form submissions, and other backend tasks.JavaScript: Used for interactive elements on the client side, especially with the introduction of the block editor (Gutenberg), which heavily relies on JavaScript and React.HTML & CSS: Used to structure and style the content of themes and plugins.SQL: The language used for database operations, as WordPress stores data in a MySQL database.JSON/REST API: Allows WordPress to connect with external applications and transfer data in a structured way.DutiesGRAPHIC DESIGN AND LAYOUT: Meet the various design and typesetting requirements of the marketing team. This involves a mixture of working in pre-existing templates as well as free design and setting up new templates.Design output will vary from company's annual report, flyers, brochures, stationery, invitations, graphics, economic reports, photos and direct mail. All design work needs to be in accordance with the marketing style guide to ensure brand integrity and high output quality is maintained.Improve existing design outputs.Meet with the Senior Graphic Designer to determine the scope of a project.Create images that identify a service/product.Develop graphics for illustrations, logos, and websites.DIGITAL/WEBSITE: Content Updates:Create, edit, and format blog posts, articles, and pages.Ensure that all content is optimized for SEO (e.g., using keywords, meta descriptions).Maintain and update media galleries (e.g., images, videos).Website Maintenance:Troubleshoot and fix minor technical issues (broken links, formatting problems, etc.).Design and Layout Adjustments: Customize page layouts using the WordPress editor.Edit themes and templates as needed to ensure a cohesive look and feel.Plugin Management:Install, configure, and update WordPress plugins to add new features or enhance functionality.Test plugins for compatibility with the website and other plugins.Collaboration and Communication:Work with the marketing, content, and design teams to align web content with business goals.Collaborate on new website features or campaigns and offer input on potential improvements.COMMUNICATIONS: Responsible for weekly and monthly template layouts.Responsible for Everlytic layouts and sending.Uploading documents onto website/SharePoint.Market the company in a professional manner to clients and prospective clients and maintain sound business relationships with existing clients.Communicate with others in ways that are clear, concise, and understandable.Demonstrate ease in relating to a diverse range of people of varying backgrounds, ages, experience, and education levels.ProcessesEnsure that the required support is provided in all processes relating to:
