Junior Food Technologist

RPO Recruitment's client, in the food manufacturing industry, is currently seeking a Junior Food Technologist to join their team in Cape Town.ResponsibilitiesAssisting senior food technologists in developing new products and improving existing products.Conducting quality control checks on raw materials, production processes, and finished products.Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as production, quality assurance, and marketing to ensure product consistency and compliance with food safety regulations.Assisting with the development of product specifications and documentation.Conducting research on new food trends, ingredients, and technologies to contribute to product innovation.Assisting in the troubleshooting of production issues and implementing corrective actions.Conducting sensory evaluations and consumer testing to gather feedback on product acceptability.Maintaining accurate records of all testing and research activities.Participating in supplier audits and visits to ensure the quality of raw materials.Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in food technology.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.Previous internship or work experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.Willingness to learn and develop new skills in food technology.Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Salary: negotiable.Our client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experience.
