Junior Food Safety Officer

Location: SA - Gauteng, Randburg

Salary: R19 500 - R27 500 ctc

Our client based in Randburg in the Hospitality Industry is looking for a Junior Food Safety Officer to join their team. Salary is dependent on experience.

Minimum Requirements: 2 - 3 years experience in a food production industry Must have any food science/biotechnology qualification Knowledge of FSMS and ISO 22000 Key Responsibilities: Conducting Inspections: Regularly inspecting food establishments, processing plants, and other facilities to ensure they meet food and health safety requirements Monitoring Compliance: Ensuring that food businesses comply with local, national, and international food safety regulations Investigating Complaints: Looking into complaints and reports Educating and Training: Providing training and education to food handlers and business owners on proper food handling, sanitation practices, and safety procedures Developing Policies: Creating and implementing food safety policies and procedures to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety Collecting Samples: Taking samples of food products for laboratory testing to detect any contamination or non-compliance with safety standards Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of inspections, findings, and actions taken to ensure transparency and accountability Advising on Improvements: Offering recommendations to improve food safety practices and prevent future issues Regular reporting to senior management on the maintaining of the FSMS (Food Safety Management Systems) Conducting internal and external food safety audits Consultant: Timiyah de Goede - Dante Personnel Johannesburg
