Junior Financial Manager

Our client is looking for an ambitious, driven Junior Financial Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the finance team, managing finance staff and reporting to the Head of Finance.Responsibilities Include:Performing all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and overhead cost allocation.Preparing Management accounts, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance.Managing the day-to-day accounting activities.Preparing financial reports.VAT / EMP 201 returns and other statutory/regulatory submissions.Assisting with the development of financial controls, financial policies, procedures and guidelines, risk assessment, and management to ensure that financial risks are identified and addressed.Preparing and reviewing monthly payroll calculations and other ad-hoc duties as required.Preparing annual audit documentation for an external audit firm, including closing off, and liaising with auditors.Assisting with preparing capital raise documentation/due diligence.Managing and overseeing junior staff members, including training, mentoring, and development of staff.Requirements:3+ years Financial Management or 5+ years Senior Financial Accountant experience.Advanced computer skills on MS Office (Excel, etc.), accounting software, and databases.Relevant financial qualifications.SAIPA qualification or completed SAICA articles will be beneficial.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ideally coming from a hospitality or property background.Desired Skills:Financial Management.Balance sheet reconciliations.Management Accounts.VAT.Staff Management.
