If yes, then MiWay is the place for you!What will you do?The Junior Business Partner will be responsible for a management accounting function which may include planning, budgets and forecasts, interpreting financial results, monitoring cash flow, capital expenditure programmes, management reporting systems development, special investigations/reports, operating efficiency studies, feasibility studies and investment portfolios.Role ResponsibilitiesPreparation and analysis of statutory financial statements and reports, including month end reporting.Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including journal entries, ledgers and reconciliations.General Ledger management and ensuring integrity of all accounts during month-end close.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and company policies.Assist with audits, tax filings and other financial compliance requirements.Monitor and analyse financial performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities.Participate in financial planning, forecasting and budgeting activities.Provide support and guidance to departments on financial matters.Prepare and file various financial reports and disclosures as required.Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, policies and regulations.Other ad hoc related matters.QualificationBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.What will make you successful in this role?IFRS and General Accepted Accounting PrinciplesTax acts (VAT and Income Tax)Short-term insurance act and regulationsCompanies ActReporting toolsJD Edwards General LedgerHyperion Financial Management (HFM)Best PracticesExpert level Excel skillsSkills RequiredIntegrityAnalytical skillsFinancial accounting and reportingDecision makingPersuasive communication skillsInterpersonal sensitivityAdaptability to changing environment(s)InnovativeDealing with confidential informationChange managementProject managementRole CompetenciesProven experience in financial accounting, preferably in insurance or related financial services industryStrong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations and financial reporting standards - including an understanding of IFRS17Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.Analytical and problem-solvingProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.Strong communication and interpersonal abilitiesIntegrity and ethical behaviour in financial managementAdaptability and willingness to learn and grow in role.Innovative and willingness to improve and make things better.Knowledge and SkillsAnalyse Operating efficienciesBudget management and forecastingCapital expenditure managementCash flow monitoring and managementManagement reportingPersonal AttributesCommunicates effectively - Contributing independentlyFinancial acumen - Contributing independentlyOptimises work processes - Contributing independentlyPlans and aligns - Contributing independentlyCore CompetenciesBeing resilient - Contributing independentlyCollaborates - Contributing independentlyCultivates innovation - Contributing independentlyCustomer focus - Contributing independentlyDrives results - Contributing independentlyTurnaround timeThe shortlisting process will only start once the application due date has been reached.
