Role: Junior EstimatorLocation: Durban KZNExperience:Min 3 years experience in the Glass & Aluminium industry, Must be computer literate, and have experience on CSSMust have engineering site experience in power plant or heavy industrial projects, or similarMust be able to read and understand mechanical and/or construction designs and assembly drawings (structural or mechanical)Strong numerical and analytical skillsAbility to manage deadlinesOwn vehicle and valid driver's licenseDesired Skills:Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:Analyse and interpret tenders for a better understanding, provide best technical and financial solutionsUnderstand requirements of the terms and conditions, scope of work, associated risks, tender complexityAccurately take off quantities from drawings or any other document providedObtain programme from planner, evaluate, challenge and adapt cost estimate to programme (link programme to BOQ)Liaise with construction to confirm proper understanding of scope and test cost estimate derived with constructionPrepare accurate cost estimates for complete installations based on approach selected, and any contractual requirements within required timePreparing the BOQs/Pricing Schedules in accordance with the project requirementsPrepare and issue of subcontract enquiries (liaising within the technical/procurement/plant departments as required) to ensure accurate costs are received to maximise the opportunity for improved marginsResponsible for preparing the cost estimate summary for all disciplines and presenting outcome at bid approval meetingLiaise with commercial specialist to incorporate all commercial qualifications or clarifications and further verifications.Present completed estimate to management for cost review of tenderMaintain and update company cost data within the computer estimating system (master file)Estimating accurately on projects including preparation of enquiry/ tender documents with health and safety requirementsClient liaison regarding queries on drawings or items on BOQ, progress on projects and re-submitting documentationPreparation of quotation, bill of quantity and tender formatPreparing technical reportsFinal account preparation when required
