The role is responsible for collaborating with and supporting the organisation's usage of Master Data (MD) in Southern Africa. The role will specialize in supporting the flow of MD in the organisation whilst ensuring adherence to established MD processes, governance, integrity, efficiency, security, and availability of Article Master Data. This includes support to various business functions requiring guidance, approval and maintenance or resolution of issues/errors for Article Master Data.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Master Data Governance Collaborate with business to ensure adherence to MD design, policy, guidelines, and procedures. Support Master Data Manager in the development of relevant processes, procedures, and standards, based on expert insight into requirements of data. Contribute to data listing rules and validation. Master Data Management Investigate and provide support and process guidance for escalated data issues. Responsible for MD operations, capturing, cleansing, classification, and validation activities related to articles. Maintain MD article attributes according to internal policies, guidelines and GS1 industry standards. Execute data extraction for analysis purposes. Identify, authenticate, and authorise users, validating security for access to MD. Collaborate and support the various partners within the MD Centre of Excellence, external suppliers, and third parties in the maintenance of MD integrity and quality. Manage data sources for reference information, for both internal and external data providers. Metadata Management Contribute to MD metadata for relevant processes, procedures, and standards from daily operations. Augment collected metadata with business context by documenting terms, concepts, relationships, and processes. Monitor and report on data quality and identify continuous improvement requirements. Assess value of MD from user input (e.g. ratings, reviews, and certifications) from relevant stakeholders across the organisation. Provide input to training content development. Minimum Requirements: A business-related qualification i.e., Bachelor of Commerce, Information Services or any other related discipline. A minimum of 3 years' experience on MD related projects. Strong knowledge of FMCG, supply chain principles, practices, and technologies. Strong document creation and process development skills. Experience working with SAP MD, SAP S4/HANA. Knowledge of data analysis tools, SQL & MS Excel. Knowledge of industry standards related to Article MD, e.g. GS1.
