We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic Junior Community Coordinator to join our committee to support our mission.
Position Overview:
As a Junior Community Coordinator, you will play a key role in presenting and curating our online presence, engaging with our community, and supporting our marketing efforts to our membership database. This position is perfect for a young, tech-savvy individual eager to learn and grow in the tourism industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Membership Website Listing Update
Maintain and update membership listings on our website.
Ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date as per the membership database.
Monthly Newsletters
Assist in building and sending out monthly newsletters to our members and subscribers.
Collaborate with the team to gather content, images, and relevant information for the newsletters.
Social Media Posts
Create and schedule social media posts across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.).
Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, and engage with our online member community.
Share content form member and twinning clubs and tag international clubs in relevant content.
Image Library Management
Collate and organize the image library for use in digital and print materials.
Ensure all images are properly catalogued and easily accessible.
Images are received from members for updates and specials, from photographers at events and from fellow committee members.
Monthly Event Invitations
Design and distribute digital invitations for monthly events and activities.
Coordinate digital RSVPs and provide support for event registration.
Attend the monthly lunch events (and other ad hoc events like the annual Past Presidents Lunch and annual Gala Dinner etc)
Committee Meetings
Attend a monthly committee meeting every first Wednesday of the month at 5 PM to discuss future planning and organisational strategies.
Take notes and contribute ideas for upcoming projects and initiatives.
Support the club secretary and Club President with member feedback, database updates and meeting minutes.
General Website Content Updates
Assist with regular updates to the website, including new content, articles, and event information.
With the support of an outsourced web developer, ensure the website visually appealing and up to date with members specials and relevant industry content.
Qualifications:
A keen interest in tourism and a desire to grow in the industry.
Strong digital literacy skills, including familiarity with social media platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Preferred:
Basic experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
Knowledge and /or interest of the Cape Town tourism landscape is advantageous.
