With more than 97,000 employees, SGS operates a network of over 2,600 offices and laboratories around the world.Job DescriptionMAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo report on inspections on Mineral commodities, in accordance with instructions received from the Commodity Coordinator.RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain quality, efficiency and confidentiality of serviceLiaise with Commodity CoordinatorContinuously upgrade the quality of services offeredEstablish, direct and review the system of application, recording, certification, filing, sample storage and field auditingCommunicate with other branches/divisions and the laboratory to achieve required turnaround time for all submitted samplesCompile spreadsheets of results, updating daily and reporting to clientsAssist Commodity CoordinatorLiaise with the ClientsCarry out or supervise submittal of samples with sample submission formEnsure compliance with all the requirements of the inspection orderKeep direct superior informed regarding progress and/or non-conformanceLiaise with local clients regarding pertinent details and information related to the operationsAssist in continuously upgrading the quality of services offered, in support of the "Customer Services" policy and minimize client complaints and claimsCheck the inspector's claim forms in context with work executedAdhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management systemPerform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.SPECIFIC AUTHORITIESCease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environment without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to actionCease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situations to higher authority to take actionInitiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.QualificationsEducationComputer Literacy in Word and Excel, Microsoft OutlookExperienceMinimum of 1-2 years of trade-related experience or similarLanguages: Proficiency in English (Read, Speak, Write)Typing SkillsIf the incumbent is new in the industry, background and qualifications shall be a criteriaGood interpersonal skillsAbility to problem solveCalculation capability – to ensure accurate scoring of clients' results.
