As a Junior Buyer, you will be responsible for assisting in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for mining operations.
This role involves supporting the Senior Buyer and Procurement Manager in ensuring that purchases are made in a cost-effective, timely, and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services Maintain and update the supplier database Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality goods and services Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock without overstocking Coordinate with site teams to ensure efficient inventory flow Conduct regular inventory audits Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements Ensure procurement activities are within budget constraints Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation Assist in preparing reports and presentations for management Work closely with other departments, such as operations, and finance, to understand procurement needs Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to align purchasing activities with project timelines and requirements Provide regular updates on procurement status and any issues or delays Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, new products, and suppliers Analyze market conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field 3 to 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector Familiarity with procurement software and inventory management systems Strong negotiation and communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
