Junior Bookkeeper/Accountant De Watetkant Cape Town Our client is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper/Accountant to join their dynamic team in the tourism industry.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting to manage financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the financial health of our organization.Salary Negotiable Min Qualifications and requirements Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting (experience in the tourism industry is a plus).Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
ResponsibilitiesFinancial Record-Keeping Record daily financial transactions accurately in accounting software.Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are properly documented.Accounts Payable and Receivable Process invoices, payments, and receipts promptly.Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balance and assist in following up on outstanding client payments.Bank Reconciliations Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.Expense Tracking Monitor and categorize expenses to ensure proper budget allocation.Assist in preparing expense reports for management review.Tax Compliance Prepare and file VAT returns and other tax submissions in compliance with regulations.Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.Payroll process employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.Maintain records of employee hours, benefits, and deductions.Prepare payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Reporting - Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.Administrative Support senior accountants with year-end financial preparations.
