Job Description

We are actively seeking a young and vibrant individual who can join the Property and Buildings Mechanical Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Team (experience in other Mechanical services such as Wet Services, Fire Services and Medical Gas Services will be advantageous but not required).
Understanding the codes and standards (e.g. SANS 10400 Part O, ASHRAE, etc.) and transferring this into a design and a drawing, as well as the ability to learn new codes will be advantageous but not required.
During the drawing process, they will analyse information (such as measurements and sketches) provided by engineers, architects and other members of a project's professional team. The BIM Modeller needs to apply their academic knowledge of modelling to illustrate visualise instructions that relate technical specifications, including dimensions, arrangements and installation procedures. These drawings will then be reviewed by our Drawing Office Manager and used for tendering and construction purposes.
Attention to detail, energy and passion for BIM Modelling is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for modelling of HVAC systems.
Create and/or modify models.
Coordinate and communicate with building owners, clients, consultants, contractors, and project team members (internally and externally).
Ensure drawings adhere to deadlines. Willingness to work extra hours above normal hours to ensure deadlines are met.
Exposure to various industry CAD/ Building Information Modelling (BIM) practice and work cultures will be advantageous.
Co-ordination of various services (HVAC, Fire, Electrical, Wet Services, Structural elements, etc.).
Responsible and taking ownership of designs and deliverables of tender information.

Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm.

Qualifications:
Qualification(s) and/or formal AutoDesk Revit training and certification is essential.
No years work experience required, but any experience in the consulting industry will be advantageous. No more than 2 years experience at the level of this role is required.
Good knowledge and experience with HVAC systems and their design according to SANS and ASHRAE standards will be advantageous but not required.
Understanding of equipment and service co-ordination of multidisciplinary services.
Specification of equipment and detailing thereof.
Ability to co-ordinate with other services (i.e. Structures, Fire, Wet Services, Architectural (internal and external) etc.) will be advantageous.
Experience and training with an array of AutoDesk products (Revit experience/training is required).
