Junior Baler Operator

Job Summary Responsible for safe, smooth and productive operating of the baling machine that has been allocated.Responsibilities Productivity and profitable workflow Responsible to achieve maximum productivity from machineryResponsible to keep maintenance costs of machinery as low as possibleResponsible to report low levels of consumables (rope, wire, strapping etc)SHEQ responsibilitiesResponsible for maintaining SHEQ standards around machineryResponsible for maintaining good housekeeping standards around machineryResponsible for controlling the quality of product processed with your machineryMake sure that you are properly qualified and certified to operate equipmentNever allow anyone that is not properly qualified to operate equipmentEnsure the machine is locked out and a PTW has been issued before maintenance or cleaning on the machine takes placeResponsible for keeping management informed about the condition of the machineMaintenanceResponsible for filling in checklists as per specific equipment requirementsResponsible to report any malfunctions immediatelyResponsible for basic maintenance of machine (checking oil, grease, etc)Responsible to keep machinery and workstation clean and tidyResponsible for sorting of waste and general housekeepingAttendanceOperator must be reliable to add value to the teamOperator will be monitored closely for absenteeismRecord keepingProduction records are to be kept and submitted regularlyOperator is expected to keep a diary to record daily tasks and any maintenance done on machineryRequirementsOperating experience dependant on type of machine to be operatedMinimum 1 year working experience in a similar roleLiterate, able to fill in diary and reportsQualification to operate specific machineEmployment will be implemented in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.Only Applicants considered for the role will be contacted.Closing date: 19th September 2024Should you wish to apply, please follow the online application process.
