An opportunity has become available for a newly admitted attorney to join the Corporate and Commercial Law Team of Pike Law in the Southern Suburbs.
In addition to having a keen interest in corporate and commercial work, the ideal candidate should be goal-oriented, diligent, able to work independently and under pressure.
Responsibilities:
Drafting and reviewing various commercial agreements and documents with a high degree of precision (including: drafting commercial agreements, Memorandums of Incorporation, shareholders agreements, board and shareholder resolutions, and company secretarial work);
Managing matters at their different stages;
Providing sound commercial advice to clients and managing expectations throughout the matter;
Company secretarial work;
Building and maintaining client relationships;
General practice management.
Minimum Requirements:
Admitted attorney to practice in South Africa with a strong academic record;
Newly admitted to 2 years post-admission experience in a recognized corporate and commercial practice at a reputable law firm;
Adequate knowledge of the Companies Act No. 71 of 2008;
Ability to understand the commercial aspects of a matter and provide sound commercial advice;
Excellent drafting and communication skills;
Ability to work independently with limited supervision;
Consistently produce superior work in a pressured environment.
