We are a team of Environmental, Health and Safety Attorneys and Environmental Assessment Practitioners who provide specialist EHS services to a range of companies across various industries within Southern Africa.
We are in search of a legal professional who is willing to travel on a regular basis.
We require an EHS attorney with post-qualification experience to assist with, inter alia, legal compliance auditing, audit report writing, monitoring EHS legislative changes, and reporting to clients on these changes. Experience in EHS legislation is required. The position involves local and international travel. A current passport and a driver's license are a must.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Regular/Routine:
Reporting on EHS legal changes relative to client operations
Drafting of legal updates
Providing EHS advisory services
Managing an EHS legal database
Preparing cost proposals
Periodic Responsibilities:
Conducting EHS legal compliance audits
Conducting pre-audit meetings
Providing EHS specialist training
Drafting summaries of EHS legislation
Preparing audit checklists
Assisting with tender submissions
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
An understanding of Environmental, Health and Safety law
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Database understanding and ability to work with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Drafting skills
Willingness to travel
Experience in writing reports
Qualification and Experience Required:
Degree(s) in Law
Admission as an attorney
Minimum of 3 years' work experience
Environmental, Health & Safety Legal expertise
Computer literacy
Afrikaans as a second/first language
Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills
Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment
Salary Range: R30-R50k depending on experience.
