UCOOK is a tech enabled meal-kit delivery service based in Paarden Eiland (Head Office). We deliver perfectly-portioned, locally-sourced, fresh ingredients to our customer's door – from farm-to-fork! We have been delivering nationwide since 2013.
At UCOOK we create new recipes for our customers each week, and we deliver fresh, locally sourced, and ethical pre-portioned ingredients to the customer's door. Our range also includes frozen meals, desserts and kids meals.

This role is ideal for a young and energetic junior accountant eager to contribute and learn within a fast-growing company on the cutting edge of the new economy, with modern and rapidly evolving systems. The role reports to UCOOK's very capable Senior Accountant.
Responsibilities:
Bank transaction processing, including bank reconciliations
Creditors reconciliations
Debtors processes (invoicing & statements)
Payment preparation
Preparation of journals entries
Payroll accounting
Asset management support: Fixed asset register; Asset tracking and counts
Assisting with yearly review by auditors
Transactions process responsibilities (e.g. system support, document releasing)
Opportunity to assist in management account preparation
Any other ad-hoc duties reasonably required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Finance degree or diploma.
1-2 years of working experience within the Accounting and Finance function physically performing accounting activities (Reconciliations, journal entries, data uploads and matching).
A good grasp of the basic principles of accounting are essential, as well as a clear understanding of financial process, daily finance tasks, reconciliations and journal entries.
Strong computer skills (particularly Excel) and natural affinity for new digital tools and systems
Some experience managing people is beneficial
Experience with modern cloud-based accounting or ERP systems
Good verbal and electronic communication skills
A high level of attention to detail is absolutely critical to this role.
Proven ability to work to deadlines and be able to multitask.
Experience working with trading inventory is essential
