Your key job responsibilities as the Junior Accountant in Cape Town will include:
Bookkeeping and Financial Management: Establish and maintain various accounts.Record and verify financial transactions accurately.Define and implement bookkeeping policies and procedures.Develop systems to account for financial transactions, including establishing a chart of accounts.Maintain subsidiary accounts through precise posting, verification, and allocation of transactions.Review and reconcile entries to ensure the accuracy and balance of subsidiary accounts.Prepare trial balances for the accountants.Generate financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information.Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with local legal requirements.Prepare VAT201, EMP201, and EMP501 reports.Manage payroll and wages systems, including manual calculations of staff wages and commissions.Prepare Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) documentation and ensure compliance.Financial Analysis and Support: Collaborate with management to develop and monitor budgets.Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.Provide insights, forecasts, and budget analyses to support financial decision-making.Ensure proper archiving and retrieval of financial and administrative records.Assist with implementing internal financial controls and process improvements.Requirements for this Junior Accountant job in Cape Town:
