Position Overview: A premier plastic manufacturing company, known for producing large moulds such as tables, chairs, and crates, is seeking an entry-level Junior Toolmaker to join their dynamic team.
This role is ideal for a recent Trade Test graduate with at least one year of post-qualification experience.
While plastics experience is preferable, it is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities: Toolmaking: Assist in the manufacturing, maintenance, and repair of plastic injection moulds.
Operate and maintain various toolroom machinery and equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines.
Work with precision measuring instruments to ensure tools and moulds meet the required specifications and tolerances.
Fabricate, modify, and repair mould components as per technical drawings and specifications.
Technical Support: Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mould performance and quality.
Provide technical assistance during the setup and commissioning of new moulds and machinery.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing mould performance and production efficiency.
Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on moulds to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Identify and address potential issues before they impact production, ensuring minimal downtime.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all toolmaking and maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
Update and manage toolroom inventory to ensure the availability of necessary materials and components.
Qualifications: Education: Trade Tested Toolmaker certification.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of post-trade Test experience in a toolmaking role.
Experience in a plastics manufacturing environment is preferable, but not mandatory.
Skills: Proficiency in operating and maintaining toolroom machinery and equipment.
Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Basic knowledge of CNC programming and operations is advantageous.
