Join this Hotel Group at their newly renovated property as their Snr Chef on Duty reporting into the F&B / Deputy GM or GM.
You will be managing a team of 5 Commis.
The menu will consist of Pizza, pasta, selection of grills, salad, wraps, toasted sandwiches & dessert
Offering a breakfast, lunch & dinner but working mostly dinner shifts.
Under the general guidance of the Group Executive Chef, directs and organises the activities of the food
production department which includes a variety of responsibilities such as establishing and maintaining the
required culinary standards; insuring the proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment as well as
employee hygiene and safety.
Ensures that standards of food quality and presentation are met at all times, whilst reducing wastage and
controlling costs, and control supervise the kitchen team area assigned to him.
To assist the Executive Chef in the day to day running of the kitchen.
To deputise in the Executive Chef's absence.
To ensure that a courteous and efficient service is provided to the guest in line with the Company's vision.
Qualification & Experience:
Grade 12 / Equivalent as well as Culinary Diploma/equivalent or ARPL/Trade Test from a reputable institution. - Non negotiable with copies of qualifications to be provided
Computer literacy is essential particularly with a proficiency in Microsoft Office. You must be able to run a busy hot pass. Knowledge of stock takes food costing and HACCP food safety is advantageous. Working knowledge of various computer software programmes.
