IntroductionA vacancy exists at Medipost Pharmacy for a JNR Network Specialist (Systems Administrator), reporting to the IT Manager.
This position is based in Gezina, Pretoria.
The purpose of the job is to be responsible for maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including server environment.
Experience in VMware, Windows, Linux, Hyper-V and SQL is required.
Experience:Computer hardware and software systems and desktop applications.Sound knowledge of computer networks, network administration, and network installation.Experience in computer support and troubleshooting.Knowledge of HP networking products.Knowledge of VEEM storage products.Knowledge of VMware virtualization products.Knowledge of Microsoft Core technologies Server and SQL.Experience with backup and replication hardware and software systems.Expected Output:LAN and PRTG incidentsEnsure all LAN and PRTG toolsets are exploited to maximize proactive monitoring.VM and Server healthManage incidents logged on VM and servers.Anti-virusEnsure anti-virus is installed on all servers and that the anti-virus update server is 100% updated and operational (including branches).Back-upsPerform daily backup of all servers and data as agreed by clients.Logged helpdesk incidentsProvide trends of all infrastructure incidents.DR and BCPEnsure that all DR processes are documented and that network resilience is improved.
Highlight risks within the environment.QualificationsMinimum: Grade 12.CompTIA A certification.CompTIA N certification.CCNA.National Diploma in IT or relevant qualification.ResponsibilitiesManage local and remote branch IT services including implementing, maintaining, and supporting desktop and mobile computer-related hardware.Implement, maintain, and support network infrastructure (switches, routers, and firewalls).Implement, maintain, and support desktop PC operating systems and software.Implement, maintain, and support server and storage infrastructure.Implement, maintain, and support VMware products.Implement, maintain, and support core infrastructure technologies including Windows Servers, Linux servers, and Email servers.Provide end users with hardware, desktop PC software, and backend system support.Support and maintain VoIP systems.Liaise with contractors and vendors to design, implement, and maintain technology solutions.
