Role and ResponsibilitiesMACRO RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the running of the Daycare programmePolicy writing and implementationProgramme Development and ImplementationPromote Jewish culture and learning. Celebrate important Jewish festivalsManagement of daycare staff (CYCW's, Homework Teachers, Volunteers)Maintenance and control of property and equipmentDraw up and manage annual budget for the programmeDAYCARE RESPONSIBILITIES Admission & Orientation of children into the programLiaison with social workers, case conferences with social workers and parentsBehaviour management in conjunction with cycw'sArrange holiday programmes with Daycare teamImplement and manage routinesManage homework routine to ensure that each child receives support. Assign volunteers specific homework tasks and childrenOrganise fun days and special eventsCompile and implement IDP's for each child together with the social workers, families and cycw'sReview IDPs every 6 monthsADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES Provide written monthly feedback on each child to the social workersImmediate communication with social workers regarding any issues or concernsKeep records and process notes as requiredRESIDENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that residents are complying with homework and studying requirementsRegular contact with schools regarding homework and projects of childrenManage stationery and textbook storesOrdering and distribution of all stationery and textbooks for the next yearCollection of used textbooks from childrenAll residential matters regarding education will be managed in conjunction with the residential social workerManage and update files on chevnetSUPERVISION AND TRAINING Attend in-service training as and when offered by chevGroup supervision with daycare teamIndividual consultations with cycw'sAttend Team meetingsAttend leadership opportunities offered by the chevQualifications and Education RequirementsMatric
Degree in Education or Social work
OR
Proven experience in management of child related programmes or Centre for children
Registration with relevant professional bodies
Preferred SkillsLeadership qualitiesManagement skillsComputer skillsGood communications skillsStrong organisational and administrative skills
