Java Developer (Senior Technical Specialist) – EE (Cape Town)As part of the development team, be responsible for producing quality software according to business requirements. You need to assist with the deployment and monitoring of the developed systems in development, testing, and production environments.
Responsibilities Provide recommendations and cost/man-day estimates for implementing changes.Maintain existing systems according to change requests.Produce appropriate software programs that satisfy the specifications.Test own programs and artefacts to ensure correctness.Debug programs.Provide:Test information to TestersProgress to the project manager or team lead.Recommendations and cost or man-day estimates for implementing changes.Standby or support (if and when applicable).Assist with the implementation of changes into the Production environment.Document changes implemented and programs.Problem solving, root cause analysis, and user assistance (functional).Technical support and assistance to others on own programs or systems.Mentorship of junior team members.Quality Assurance of junior team members' code.System application and performance benchmarking information.Implement updates and releases of 3rd party software packages.Execution of disaster recovery processes.Requirements Qualifications Grade 12Relevant IT Degree or Diploma is highly recommended.Experience Minimum 5 years of experience within application development.System Analysis (advantageous)Writing web services (SOAP/XML) and (REST/JSON)Skills JEE application serversToolingJEE application frameworksIBM AIX or Unix skillsDatabase skills and SQLKnowledge SDLC methodologyProblem analysis and problem-solving techniquesDocumentation frameworks, tools, and standardsProject management principlesDeployment process in the development phaseFinancial product knowledge (advantageous)Knowledge of Identity and Access Management systems (advantageous)If you would like to submit your CV for consideration, please fill out this form and we will get in touch with you shortly.
