It Technician

JOB PURPOSE: Manage and maintain the IT infrastructure estate. The role will serve as a point of escalation for L1 IT Technicians. This role requires an understanding of Microsoft services, networking, end user compute as well as Cloud and On Prem hosted infrastructure. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Duties include but will not be limited to: Continuously monitor and analyse end-to-end infrastructure performance. Perform hands-on work with emerging technologies, configuring, testing, tuning, and troubleshooting infrastructure components. Conduct data analysis to identify improvements in the health of the infrastructure, monitor application performance, and troubleshoot production issues. Ensure that applications are running smoothly, to include ensuring system resources are available. Interest for Microsoft technologies, Azure cloud and will to constantly grow, learn and enhance skills in this area Perform operational tasks to resolve all incidents/requests in a timely manner and within the agreed SLA. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Grade 12 A, N, S Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) or equivalent Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or equivalent MS Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 (Beneficial) MS 365 Fundamentals MS-900 (Beneficial) MS Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals SC-900 (Beneficial) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) (Beneficial) Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Project management 5 Years of IT End User Support experience 3 Years Server/Network support experience Knowledge of on-prem Windows Server solutions as well as Hybrid Cloud solutions. Knowledge of VMWare and Virtualization technologies. Knowledge of end user compute solutions and the ability to solve hardware and software problems. Knowledge in all areas of networking, including but not limited to LAN and WAN technologies, security, wireless, voice, SD-WAN Experience of administering and operating small/medium enterprise infrastructure and services in public cloud environments, including configuring backups, monitoring, patching and security of cloud resources Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud (knowledge of cloud resource deployment principles or usage of specific cloud technologies) Asset Management Driver License Own transport
