Job Overview:
At Tech Guru, we're looking for a Service Desk Technician who is not just technically skilled but also deeply caring, accountable, responsive, and empathetic in their approach to both client and team interactions. This role requires a passion for technology and troubleshooting, along with an unwavering attention to detail and a love for documentation.
You will work closely with our internal team and clients, solving technical issues while always keeping cybersecurity best practices in mind. Your expertise will cover Windows environments, Microsoft 365 administration, networking, and mobile device setup. The ideal candidate thrives on collaboration, communicates effectively, and embodies the values we hold dear.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate, efficient, and responsive technical support via phone, chat, email, and remote management tools.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for devices such as PCs (Windows), with exposure to Mac environments, Microsoft 365 administration, wireless networks, Unifi networking, and mobile devices.
Set up, configure, and manage wireless networks, including knowledge of subnetting and best practices in network security.
Handle Microsoft 365 account administration and ensure a secure and seamless experience for clients.
Assist in managing Windows servers and ensure smooth operations for both small-scale and larger network environments.
Document every step of troubleshooting and resolution meticulously, contributing to a knowledge base that benefits the team and clients alike.
Integrate cybersecurity best practices into daily tasks, proactively identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities.
Collaborate thoughtfully with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality service for our clients.
Engage with clients in a patient, empathetic manner, adapting your communication style to match their level of technical understanding.
Requirements:
Experience: 2+ years of experience in technical support, with strong troubleshooting skills and a love for solving IT problems.
Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of Windows environments (both PC and server), some exposure to Mac, wireless networking (subnetting), Unifi networking, and mobile device setup and configuration.
Microsoft 365 Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including setting up user accounts, email configurations, and security protocols.
Cybersecurity Focus: Awareness and application of cybersecurity best practices in all technical tasks.
English Proficiency: Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to relate to clients of varying technical knowledge and emotional states.
Attention to Detail: A commitment to documenting your work thoroughly and accurately, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
Collaboration: A team player who enjoys working closely with colleagues and clients in a thoughtful, proactive, and empathetic manner.
