This role supports the smooth running of the Money Management production applications and infrastructure and is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.
The IT Support Specialist will drive the availability and stability of the Retail Proposition Platform. The role requires adequate knowledge of automation of the day to day operational activities as well as building towards the future migration to the AWS cloud infrastructure. Business process and knowledge is key to delivering the service as per the agreed SLA. The incumbent will work in a multi-functional team to ensure continuous delivery of quality solutions.Accountable for achieving results through own effortsPerform trend analysis identifying recurring issues and root causes while implementing preventative measures or mechanisms to identify issues fasterResponsible for creating processes and support mechanisms for API ConsumersThe role has security management as a key deliverable which includes, but not limited to, vulnerability management, obsolescence, auditing, risk management and access control.Promoting automation and AI and reducing cost and increasing KPI success rate and SLA mandates adherence. Responsible for ensuring the stability and responsiveness of the platform via implementation of optimisation, monitoring and alerting mechanisms reducing production incidents and reducing mean time to recover of both the public and private cloud environments.Supporting the constant business and technology change with the ability to interact, engineer and communicate collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.Responsible for KPI management that supports and ensures mandates of uptime, latency, resilience and security are met and are consistently above mandated levels.Responsible in ensuring that cluster level monitoring and alerting are up to date and has a wide coverage to identify issues faster and prevent outages.The role is responsible for creating platform self-health and healing mechanisms.Assist the Platform Product Owner to refine the production backlog, and define new objectives, informed by the business demand.Maintain Platform and system documentation, templates and style guides and assist software development teams to adopt standards during delivery.Respond (2nd line) to and resolve support tickets in the Platform Engineering support queue.Provide afterhours and 24X7 1st line production platform support.Role Requirements: 3-4 yrs Practical IT technical support experience. Experience working with information architecture and design interfaces. Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle. Knowledge of DevOps advantageous.Knowledge of at least one high-level programming language: Java, C#, C++Ability to produce technical documentation AWS knowledge advantageous ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED, NOT A REQUIREMENT) :
Shell (e.g. Bash) scripts are advantageous.Knowledge of the Oracle platformJob Scheduling tool, e.g. Control-MMonitoring via DynatraceWorking with various ITSM and Version Control toolsSkills Education Closing Date
