The role involves providing technical support for computer systems, hardware, and software to meet the organisation's technology needs. Responsibilities include assessing the needs of various departments, evaluating and recommending software and hardware solutions, installing and configuring systems and networks, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The position also involves developing and maintaining internal and external documentation, creating user manuals, and preparing training materials to assist users with technical challenges. The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently or as part of a team and must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
Responsibilities:
Maintain computer systems and networks, ensuring they are up-to-date and running efficiently.
Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software, including operating systems and applications.
Provide technical support to end-users, resolving technical issues and providing advice on software and hardware utilization.
Monitor systems performance to identify potential errors, vulnerabilities, and security breaches.
Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Plan and execute IT projects, including hardware and software upgrades, network installations or migrations.
Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to identify and recommend new technologies or solutions that support business needs and goals.
Manage and maintain IT inventory and documentation, and report on hardware and software procurement, installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
Participate in the development of documentation outlining Operational tooling processes and offerings.
Develop a capacity management process of all monitoring tool infrastructure.
Develop solution designs and costing for business and IT initiatives and is responsible for defining the functional and infrastructure designs of these solutions.
Provision backup infrastructure solution.
Ensure Request/Incident/Change/Problem management policies are defined and adhered to.
Develop an expert understanding of the monitoring capabilities of the tools owned by our team and their interaction points.
Maintain an intermediate knowledge of Sharepoint to leverage it as an access point for internal and external groups to understand Engagement offerings and status.
Install and configure software and hardware components of computer and network systems.
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
Provide technical support to users and troubleshoot system and network issues.
Perform diagnostic tests and maintenance procedures.
Manage data backup and system security operations (e.g., user authorization, firewalls).
Update technical documentation to reflect changes in system configurations and settings.
Provide expert support and feedback within a reasonable timeframe as directed by the company.
Implement ticketing system and keep track of all tickets and response time.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an IT specialist.
Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and appropriate software applications.
Familiarity with internet security and data privacy principles.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant fields.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical details to a non-technical audience.
Expertise in data management and data security.
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
Expertise in managing multiple tasks.
Attention to detail and precision.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent ability to manage requests via ticketing system and keep track of tickets and response time.
