Job Title: IT Manager, Group Networks and Communications Location: Helderkruin Job Purpose: As the Manager of Group Networks and Communications, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the FSG network infrastructure and communication systems. The role will be pivotal in ensuring seamless connectivity, efficient communication, and secure data transfer across the company. You will lead a team of skilled network and communication professionals, collaborating with other departments to meet business objectives and technological needs.
Key Responsibilities: Network Infrastructure Management: Develop and execute strategies for the design, deployment, and optimization of the organisation's network infrastructure.Monitor network performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance network efficiency and reliability.Ensure network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, are up-to-date and effective.Manage network equipment and assets, overseeing procurement, installation, and maintenance.Communication Systems Oversight: Lead the administration and enhancement of the organisation's communication systems, including VoIP, telephony, email, and messaging platforms.Collaborate with relevant teams to implement unified communication solutions that facilitate seamless information exchange.Ensure the security and privacy of communication channels and data transmission.Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of network engineers and communication specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback to team members.Identify training and development needs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.Project Management: Plan, execute, and supervise network and communication projects, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.Work closely with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and align them with organizational goals.Vendor Management: Evaluate and select external vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with network and communication service providers.Ensure vendors deliver services and products that meet agreed-upon standards and expectations.Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, data protection laws, and internal security policies related to network and communication systems.Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network and communication infrastructure.Technology Research and Innovation: Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, proposing innovative solutions to improve network performance and communication processes.Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process streamlining through technological advancements.Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in managing and leading network and communication teams in a complex enterprise environment.Strong technical knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software, including LAN/WAN technologies, routers, switches, and firewalls.Familiarity with communication systems such as VoIP, telephony, email servers, and messaging platforms.Project management skills with a track record of successfully executing network and communication projects.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex network and communication issues.Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and data protection regulations.
