• Leads the engineering and technology teams to build, maintain, and improve the platform.
• Plays a critical role in shaping Kandua's technology direction, infrastructure, product development processes.
• Leads data architecture, cybersecurity, and data governance ensuring Kandua's technology infrastructure and data practices scale with business growth.
• Collaborate and work closely across all cross-functional teams including product, distribution, and operational teams to ensure alignment.

Define and implement tech roadmap, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of the service platform. Continuously refine and align to goals, market needs, and competitive landscape.
Platform development and innovation:
Oversee the architecture and development of the service platform, introducing new technologies and innovations to improve user experience and performance, and drive business growth.
Leadership and team management:
Build, lead and manage cross-functional teams consisting of engineers, data scientists, data analysts, and IT professionals. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the data and technology department. Promote agile methodologies across technology and data teams to ensure rapid and reliable product iterations and data insights that can drive competitive advantage. Recruit, develop, and retain top technical and data talent, creating a high-performance environment.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Work closely with product owners and marketing to ensure seamless integration of technology and data strategies into product offerings. Provide technology and data-driven insights to support business functions such as distribution, operations, and finance. Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and cost-effectiveness.
Infrastructure and cloud strategy:
Oversee infrastructure strategy, ensuring cloud environments are optimized for cost, performance, and scalability.
Risk management, security, and compliance:
Ensure that the platform adheres to the highest security standards, protecting both company and customer data, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Proactively manage all IT and data-related risks.
Data leadership:
Define the overall data strategy, including data architecture, data governance, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. Lead the implementation of advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to empower data-driven decision-making across the organization. Ensure that all data streams (customer data, product data, etc.) are efficiently integrated into a unified platform performance. Oversee the integration of artificial intelligence ("AI") and machine learning ("ML") tools to enhance platform features and personalize user experience.
Budget and resource allocation:
Manage the technology and data team's budget. Manage resource allocation and utilize resources to align with company priorities.

Data utilization: Increase in actionable insights derived from data analytics and their positive impact on decision-making and business outcomes.
Security compliance: Achievement and maintenance of security certifications and adherence to data privacy regulations.
Team performance and retention: High performing employee engagement, low turnover rates, and productivity improvements within the technology and data teams.
Data Quality & Governance: Measurable improvement in data quality, including consistency, accuracy, and governance across all data sources.
Feature Delivery & Innovation: Successful and timely launch of new platform features driven by AI, machine learning, and data insights.
Cost efficiency: Adherence to the technology budget and ability to optimize infrastructure and development costs while delivering on technical requirements.
Authority:
Full decision-making authority over the technology stack, platform architecture, data governance, policies, and analytics. Authority to build, manage, and scale the technology and data management team as needed (in line with predefined budget objectives). Setting goals, conducting performance evaluations, and overseeing professional development. Authority over the technology and data budget, ensuring the efficient use of resources and approval of expenditures for tools, cloud services, and infrastructure. Final approval on the selection of technology and data partners, tools, and external vendors.
Collaboration and reporting structure:
Collaborate with the product, technology, operations, marketing, and other senior leadership to ensure alignment between technology, data, and business objectives. Engage with technology and data vendors, security partners, and industry experts to stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends. Key product representative in all cross-functional leadership engagements. Reports into the Executive Head and works closely with the leadership team to ensure alignment with business objectives and provides updates on both technology and data initiatives, as well as progress on KPIs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEQUALIFICATIONS:
• University Degree and/or qualification in an IT-related discipline such as mathematical-scientific field or information technology or other relevant professional experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
• Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role with 10+ years of experience.
• Demonstrable knowledge of current and anticipated global trends in corporate IT environments.
• Experience working with third-party integrations.
• Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders through clear and concise written and verbal communication.
• Management of resources (financial and human).
• Ability and know-how of both IT and business to think strategically and visionary about the role and contribution of IT to the business as well as the ability to convert concept and vision into action and implementation.
• Proven track record of understanding the implications and mechanics of embedding technology and digital change in organizations to deliver new mindsets and ways of working.
