About the job IT Business Analyst (Inbound)Key purpose:Our company is currently on the hunt to acquire an IT Business Analyst (Inbound). The role will be based in Westville and report to the Applications Manager.Duties and responsibilities:Work with the business to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes.Meet with relevant Business representatives to establish, understand and document detailed Business requirements to be met by the project.Analyze discrepancies in services or performance and make recommendations for updates/improvements to resolve them.Involve in the design or modification of business systems or IT systems, assist in determining the project scope, and agree on a scope definition document as well as functional & technical specification document ensuring full sign off prior to implementation.Solve business problems and design technical solutions.Document business processes and represent them in flow diagrams.Facilitate the implementation of identified solutions utilizing recognized project management methodologies.Ensure that all tests are conducted and documented according to the standards agreed upon by the business unit and IT.Responsible for ensuring that all documentation accurately reflects the status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions.Ensure that IT programs/initiatives are consistently implemented and managed from an ITGC, TCO & Sustainability perspective.Manage specific application quality assurance and help desk activities including the tracking of bug reports and change requests and ensuring their timely resolution.Ensure that all items follow the change management process and are entered and tracked through the change management software.Responsible for the overall success of testing, including results verification and acquiring the relevant release sign-off.Establish the purpose and deliverables of the test effort.Ensure continuing operational quality by documenting bug fixes and enhancements.Participate in the design or modification of business systems or IT systems, assist in determining the project scope.Interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their problems and needs.Document the functional and verify the technical design of the system in conjunction with a developer or system specialist.Sustain the knowledge management content of the business by integrating daily support and project activities to keep documentation consistent and up to date.Understand/define and supply solutions to mitigate process or system-based gaps.Implement business enhancements as per business projects function.Assist in improving and streamlining business processes and preparing business process documentation.Support the Applications Manager in identifying IT application solutions to address key Business requirements within functional area.Work with the Functional Managers to assess current IT capabilities and identify high-level customer delivery timetables.Conduct regular system compliance audits and health checks.Report on system non-compliance by users to the Applications Manager.Identify and highlight business risk to the Applications Manager as a result of non-compliance. Recommend compensating controls to the Applications Manager.Work closely with the Data insights team to ensure data flow from all ERP systems to data warehousing and BI platforms are correct and validated.Qualifications and experience:Degree in Information Technology / BCom / BSc.Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience within the relevant business function or information technology environment.ERP Applications with specific reference to Finance, Cost & Management Accounting and Profitability Analysis.Demonstrated success in managing projects relating to superior performance and Continuous Business Improvement.Valid Code E drivers' license.Relevant systems exposure or certification for ERP system.Relevant systems exposure Best of breed systems.
