Job Description To develop an Islamic Banking growth strategy (for products and sales) across Retail and Commercial (R&C) aligned to Shari'ah principles and compliance requirements.
To ensure the achievement of sustainable returns for the bank and efficient delivery on the banking needs of the public entities.
Define an Islamic Banking Sales portfolio growth strategy in line with predetermined growth targets, which are determined on an annual basis through conducting competitor analysis and innovating new value propositions by developing sales initiatives which align with the various segment strategies. Alignment to and implementation of the broader Retail and Commercial (R&C) segment strategies. Implement Islamic Banking-specific strategy across the various elements – product, growth, sales, customer, credit, pricing, operations, etc. Achieve revenue targets by either growing a portfolio of existing clients (optimizing revenue opportunities) or by acquiring new clients. Achieve Net Income Return (NIR) for the Islamic Banking Business as defined in the Financial Performance Report of the Business. Establish, align and manage target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for a range of functional areas to increase cost efficiency. Develop and implement differentiated service models for client segments. Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external parties to support the sales strategy and retention of clients. Oversee the management of the growth of active customer Account Base to increase client base. Manage accounts and interests of top clients to ensure retention and growth. Maintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders. Prioritize, coordinate and facilitate all approved strategic projects. Plan and provide oversight on execution of campaigns. Set standards and benchmarks for measuring successful campaign execution. Monitor costs/benefits per campaign/channel. Maintain operational accountability for all campaign execution. Maximize Business Portfolio cross-sell opportunities and strengthen client relationships. Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence (information) together with analyzing trends and data. Analyse competitor information gathered and ensure active monitoring of market trends and influencers. Keep up to date with other Islamic Banking offerings and ensure FNB Islamic Banking has a competitive and innovative offering to be considered as the front leaders in the Islamic Banking industry. Identify new business opportunities that impact on the industry. Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices. Leverage off the various enablement Heads (Shari'ah & Legal, Risk and Compliance (LRC) – internal and external) and remain responsible for the compliance of Islamic Banking products and services. Research and introduce new products and services to take to market aligned to Shari'ah compliance requirements. Overall accountable for operational activities across the segment and across all products and services. Oversight of all service level agreements with the respective product houses and internal service providers. Ensure compliance with audit requirements. Track, control and influence sales activities with the specific aim to increase sales efficiencies. Manage team or teams in areas of responsibility in delivery against performance targets and achievement of wider human capital objectives. Identify and encourage participation in activities that are appropriate for own and employee development in area of responsibility. Demonstrate leadership behavior through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organizational values.
