Job DescriptionHello Future Implementation Specialist In this role you will be required to play an essential role in bridging the gap between portfolio managers (PMs) and trade execution. You will be required engage in the cash management of client investor flows, maturing instruments and distributions and ensure investment strategies are executed efficiently and within key investment restrictions. To support the management of a range of local and global CIS funds and segregated portfolios.
Are you someone who can Monitor daily cash positions across various Ashburton CIS funds, ensuring adequate liquidity for trades.Monitor daily subscriptions and redemptions and work with PMs to implement the relevant trades.Track distributions and upcoming maturities, coordinating reinvestment strategies as directed by PMs.Participate in initiating trades through the organisation's order management system, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.Regularly assess portfolio drift and collaborate with PMs to initiate rebalancing when necessary.Implement buy and sell orders within the order management system as directed by PMs, focusing on accuracy and efficiency.Manage maturing instruments, including bonds, and facilitate their transition to new positions when required.Help optimise trade lists to reduce transaction costs and limit market disruption.Support the administration of local and offshore feeder funds, overseeing subscription and redemption processes.Alert PMs to any significant deviations between feeder and underlying funds, ensuring timely responses.Keep track of trade executions to verify they align with expectations, providing feedback as necessary.Work closely with traders to choose appropriate order types (market, limit, VWAP) for various trades.Provide support to the execution function where required, and execute various instrument types such as equities, fixed income, currencies, and derivatives.Prepare reports on portfolio and execution activities to assist in decision-making and strategy discussions.Communicate regularly with fund managers and relevant stakeholders about trade implementations and portfolio status.Use key portfolio management tools to support efficient trading and operational processes.Contribute to efforts aimed at enhancing existing workflows and systems to improve operational efficiency.Share knowledge with junior staff about trading practices and operational protocols.Identify and report potential risks in trading and cash management, supporting risk mitigation strategies.You will be an ideal candidate if you: Minimum: Bachelor's degree in commerce or finance or economics or equivalentPreferred: Honour's degree in Commerce or Finance or Economics or equivalent3 - 5 years' experience in a similar environment, of which 1 - 2 years ideally at junior (entry level) management levelStrong understanding of financial instruments, trading processes, and cash management.You will have access to: Opportunities to network and collaborateChallenging WorkingOpportunities to innovateWe can be a match if you have: Proficiency in order management systems and portfolio management technologies.Familiarity with compliance regulations and investment restrictions within the asset management industry.Experience working within an operations environment, ideally within an asset management business.Implementation experience is an advantage.Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data.Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.This is an office-based role requiring constant communication with the trading and investment team – some flexibility will however be available.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating strong organisational skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.Are you interested to take the step?
