Investment Associate

Qualifications:Education: Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Management.An advanced qualification such as an Honours or Masters degree in Finance, chartered accounting, or CFA (Level II & above) is preferred.Experience: 3+ years of experience in private equity or venture capital, with a strong track record in deal execution, portfolio management, and venture building.
Experience in Southern Africa is an advantage.Skills: Expertise in financial statement analysis, financial modelling, and industry research.
Outstanding communication, analytical, and teamwork skills are required.
High proficiency in Excel and MS Office is essential.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Investment Management: Identify, evaluate, and execute investment deals.
Oversee due diligence, negotiate terms, and manage transactions through to closure.Portfolio Support: Provide strategic, operational, and financial support to portfolio companies, helping them navigate growth and market challenges.Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior investment professionals, fostering their development and enhancing team performance.Networking & Relationship Building: Build and sustain a robust network within the African investment ecosystem, including VCs, DFIs, startups, and accelerators.
Represent the firm at key industry events and forums.Research & Analysis: Contribute to comprehensive research on portfolio companies and market trends to inform investment strategies.Operational Management: Manage local office resources and budgets, and adapt strategies for project-based tasks as needed.Apply now!
