Job Description:
The role is specifically aimed at producing management information that enables both Property Risk and the Private Bank's risk and operational teams, from both a national and regional perspective, to better understand the Bank's property book.

Job Responsibilities:

Interpretation and analysis of property related data
Liase and further enhance relationships with 3rd party vendors, such as MSCI, SAPOA and industry experts
Be the link between business and IT regarding various projects
Ability to provoke thought, and challenge current thinking
Using economic background to identify opportunities and risks in various lending portfolios.
Monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables
Liaise with business areas and IT to receive and collate relevant information
Liaising with the Property Risk teams regionally to ensure the timeous receipt and consistency of information
Attend and more importantly to participate in credit processes
Using an economic overlay to ensure that market trends are reflected in portfolio level property valuations
Quantify the impact over the short and medium term of the expected and stressed macro-economics scenarios on the properties securing the lending portfolio

Job Requirements:

A high level understanding of the regulatory framework for credit risk (i.e. Basel) would be advantageous, but not a necessity as this knowledge will be provided
Risk consciousness
High attention to detail
A passion for the property market and the ability to identify and apply property related risks in a practical context
A good understanding of how the economic environment impacts the property market
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preference will be given to a candidate with property experience.
Strong data analytic skills (for example, Python, VBA, Sql)
Bcom Honours in Economics or equivalent
Minimum 5 years work experience in a related field
