Spar is currently recruiting for an Inventory Manager to join their dynamic team.
The purpose of this position is to ensure optimal stock levels, accurate records, and efficient processes to balance supply and demand, minimize costs, and support business goals.
Responsibilities:Manage daily inventory activities, ensuring stock levels are accurately recorded and maintained.Develop and execute inventory control procedures to minimize stock discrepancies, losses, and wastage.Lead cycle counts, stock audits, and inventory reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory data.Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems, ensuring seamless integration with other departments.Generate regular reports on inventory levels, turnover rates, and stock performance, providing insights for management decisions.Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and collaborate with the marketing teams to take corrective actions.Optimize warehouse space and layout to ensure efficient stock storage and easy accessibility while minimizing contamination.Develop, mentor, and manage a team within the inventory department, ensuring adherence to procedures and fostering continuous improvement.Conduct performance appraisals to review staff performance and identify training needs.Implement effective disciplinary and grievance procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation.Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in inventory handling and storage processes.Oversee the management of inventory-related risks and take corrective actions when necessary.Fulfill any other reasonable tasks requested by management.Minimum Requirements:Degree/ National Diploma or Certificate in Logistics Management or related qualification3 years' experience in inventory management function.Computer Literacy competence (SAP-EWM, MS Office)High level of stress tolerance, high energy levels and the ability to work under pressure.Operational understanding of SPAR warehouse internal business processes and systems would be an added advantage.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and administration skills.Must be goal orientated, analytical, and pro-active.Ability to manage day to day operational issues and resolve operational problems independently.Sound leadership / management skills and a strong customer service orientation.Flexibility - prepared to work after hours, weekends, and willingness to multi-task in other functions.Ability to develop an open, sincere, and trusting relationship with our retailers as well as suppliers.Kindly note: All applications are to be submitted through the Careers Site and Pnet.
