Introduction
We are looking to recruit a permanent Inventory Manager to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at the Lea Glen branch and will report to the General Manager (Inland).
Job description
Main Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for the effective and accurate management and control of inventory within the warehouse ensuring good corporate governance is applied, analysing the movement of stock and stock adjustments to ensure financial and operation effectiveness protecting the inventory from damage, loss and theft.
Objectives
To effectively manage and control inventory systems and processes, as well as reports according to set deadlines
Effectively manage stock returns process, credit processing for shorts and picking errors, and returned goods put away.
To manage destruction process.
To ensure the accurate valuation and count of inventory through, bin checks, cycle count analysis, investigation of variances and accurate stock takes
Investigate deviations between actual stock and the system to analyse shrinkage in the business.
To ensure the accurate valuation and reporting of shrinkage.
Keeping inventory control systems up to date and plan future capacity requirements
Resolution of suspended lines in accordance with requirements, manage stock obsolescence and redundancy in line with requirement
To provide Inventory specific financial information as and when required and review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
To ensure proper let downs, replenishment and assist picking strategies to ensure low level picks. Including setup dynamic bins on top 200.
The achievement of budgeted and agreed financial targets
To control and ensure accountability for damage and poor maintenance of company assets (scanners, machines, racking, etc.)
To analyse, interpret and report business information in order to facilitate process improvement and improved financial performance
To engage, network and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, principals and customers to ensure swift query resolution and ensure improved business performance
To lead and direct the department to achieve consistent process compliance and adherence to all relevant company SOPs, cut-offs and daily reports
To ensure effective utilisation of all people resources to drive productivity to targets
To ensure weekly meetings with labour brokers to address poor performance, damage to property and or stock, short supply of labour, scheduling issues and control and approval of costs
Ensuring CRM resolutions within the 15-day period.
Complete deviations and capa's for Inventory related issues.
Close working relationship with other Department Managers ensuring goals of distribution department are met.

Required Education and Qualification:
Essential: Matric
Degree/diploma in Warehousing / Transport/ Distribution/ FMCG/ Supply Chain/ Logistics
Minimum experience required to do the job:
Essential: 3 years' experience in receiving, inventory, order assembly, checking and dispatching
3 Years People /Industrial relationship management (desirable)
Risk control management
