QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Degree or Tertiary Diploma in Warehousing and Logistics or similar At least 8 years Stock Management experience.
3 years should be at Management Level At least 5 years experience in respect of inbound logistics TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES/ BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, SAP), Warehouse management software (WMS).
Clear understanding of Transport management system (TMS) Knowledge of Warehousing and Distribution processes and procedures.
Solid understanding of transport operations, logistics processes, and supply chain management.
Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite; SAP, ERP Systems, and job-specific software systems).
Knowledge of relevant Business Processes Knowledgeable in Material Resource Planning (MRP) Demonstrated use of performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of the supply chain Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Ability to direct and lead a team of people Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner Ability to identify problems quickly and develop innovative solutions Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Maintains effective and sustainable working relationships with stakeholders (both internal and external) Build sustainable and collaborative interpersonal relationships with all partners and third-party vendors Addresses all customer complaints and other queries Contribute positively to improve our customer service by maintaining a high level of stock accuracy amount at all business units.
Become a custodian of the company values and organisational culture within own area of responsibility Support in managing the warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
Ensuring all employees are trained in safety and receiving and inventory control procedures and that these procedures are consistently followed.
Monitors and measures performance quarterly by conducting employee appraisals, ensuring signed performance agreements.
Identifies areas of development and draws up action plans to address poor performance.
Ensures ongoing training and development of employees.
Address employee relations matters fairly and promptly.
Sets performance objectives for team by cascading of the organisations initiatives into individual performance contracts.
Monitors the implementation of HR policies within the Department.
Ensure successful implementation of all HR policies within the function Recruit and hire the correct calibre of new employees timeously when there are vacancies in key positions Provide suitable training and management development, particularly to key staff, enabling them to optimise their potential Ensure ongoing training and development of employees in general Identify areas of development and draw up action plans to address poor performance Address employee relations matters fairly and promptly Ensure that employees have clear and understood job profiles, targets and goals to perform their functions to the required standards Ensure that employees have the right resources, skills, tools, equipment, and information to successfully execute their responsibilities Proactively align future talent needs through effective succession planning and capacity building initiatives (i.e.
development programmes, training, mentorship, coaching etc.
), and advise employees on career opportunities and the requirements to achieve personal growth Align with the company BBBEE strategy and ensure all targets and deliverables are met Promote diversity, a safe and inclusive work environment within the business unit Mentor and train subordinates.
Regular meetings with team and Management.
Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.
Ensuring warehouse operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including OSHA standards.
Developing and enforcing safety protocols to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
Implementing emergency procedures and ensuring staff are trained to handle emergency situations.
Develops and maintains a quality assurance and improvement program that covers all aspects of the policy and risk activity.
Identifies and monitors departmental risks and develop and maintain a risk register.
Ensures that all action plans are in place to address internal and external audit findings and monitor progress against these plans.
Ensures compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks within functional area to prevent fruitless, wasteful and irregular expenditure.
Act as the custodian of the company values and organisational culture within the function Ensure all current labour related legislation is adhered to and communicated to whole site Contribute to the development and review of relevant company compliance and governance policies Ensure inventory processes meet legal requirements and compliance standards Ensure the integrity of all internal & external inventory reporting Lead the operations compliance with relevant related government laws and regulations through detailed reports Assess the division to determine compliance risk Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents within area of responsibility to identify possible weaknesses or risks Create and manage effective action plans in response to internal audit and compliance findings and / or violations Ensure that all employees within the inventory team are educated on the latest regulations and processes that applicable to them Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance or seek assistance and expert advice from within the organisation as well as externally Support in maintaining Quality (ISO Standards) and Environment Health & Safety Standards Observe and ensure all staff comply with the provisions of all labour legislation Ensure adherence to the Group Code of Ethics, Values as well as Unwritten Ground Rules (UGRs) Identify and monitor risks within own department and area of responsibility as well as company-wide Supply Chain risks
