Position Summary: Provides support functions directly and/or indirectly related to cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular and/or electrophysiology procedures.
Major Responsibilities: Assists with evaluation, preparation, and after care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, or electrophysiology procedures. Prepares, calibrates and operates all equipment used during procedures, including physiologic recorder, x-ray equipment, film processor and life support equipment. Performs quality assurance and maintains related documentation for x-ray equipment, film processor and lead aprons. Monitors documentation related to radiation exposure of HVIL staff. Monitors records, processes and interprets intracardiac pressures & electrocardiographic signals during procedures. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: Associate degree Certified Registered Radiology Technologist (RRT) Certified in basic life support. Experience/Skills: Required: 5 years experience in special procedures, radiographic imaging or equivalent. Experience in advanced life support and surgical techniques. Preferred: Previous cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, and/or electrophysiology laboratory experience is preferred.
