Job Title: Internal Sales Clerk Reports to: Internal Sales Manager Purpose of the Role: To provide exceptional customer service by managing customer inquiries, processing orders, and supporting the sales team to ensure smooth sales operations.
The role requires a solid understanding of electrical components and industry-related products.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries (phone, email, or walk-ins) regarding products, pricing, and availability.
Provide technical assistance and advice on electrical products when needed.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Sales Support: Process sales orders, quotations, and invoices accurately using the companys ERP/CRM system.
Collaborate with the external sales team to manage and coordinate customer orders.
Prepare and follow up on quotes provided to customers.
Manage backorders and keep customers informed about delivery timelines.
Product Knowledge and Promotion: Develop in-depth knowledge of the companys electrical and related product ranges.
Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell complementary products to customers.
Stay updated on new products, trends, and competitor activities in the electrical industry.
Stock and Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and communicate with the procurement team to ensure availability of products.
Assist with stock control and inventory counts when required.
Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records.
Generate and provide sales reports to management when requested.
Ensure all sales documentation is properly completed and filed.
Key Requirements: Qualifications: Matric (Grade 12) Essential.
Electrical qualification or courses (advantageous).
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years experience in Internal Sales, preferably in the electrical or related industry.
Proven track record of working with electrical components or similar technical products.
Skills: Strong technical understanding of electrical components and related products.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience with ERP/CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro) is an advantage.
