Write the next chapter of your ABB story.This position reports to: ARIC Demand ManagerYour role and responsibilities:Support and facilitate the assessment of financial reporting risks and the design, implementation, and maintenance of a high-quality system of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR).Coordinate activities to design, implement, and maintain a system of internal control in line with group standards.Support management in timely and sustainable remediation of deficiencies.Provide support and guidance to ensure that all key milestones are met in the Financial Crime Compliance strategy.Act as a subject matter expert related to governance and controls.Monitor compliance to process design, relevant policies, and procedures.Support the business in designing and implementing remediation actions for identified control failures.Lead the Helping Hands team and ensure training/skills transfer to team members.Support risk assessment and scoping of spot checks and testing of controls.Provide necessary support, oversight, and guidance for Quality Assurance reviews.Act as a central point for document requests and communication.Review reports on financial crime compliance standards and assess their impact on the business.Provide input into financial crime risk assessments and risk mitigating action plans.Support the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of AML/CFT and Sanctions policies.Monitor and analyze financial crime developments and advise the business accordingly.Manage escalations related to financial crime compliance.Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed to meet current regulations.Manage relationships with FCC operations vendors for specialist support.Lead the implementation and oversight of policy and governance frameworks related to Sanctions and Transaction Monitoring.Keep abreast of industry developments in financial crime and share information across the division.Document findings and recommendations clearly and structure feedback for control owners.Qualifications for the role:Relevant Degree in Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance, or Accounting.Specialist postgraduate qualifications such as Certified Global Sanctions Specialist or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist are advantageous.Minimum of 5 years' experience in internal audit, internal control, or compliance-related areas.Experience in strategy development for risk management.Experience leading teams and contributing to people development.Service-oriented mindset; commitment to quality and continuous improvement.Strong ethics and moral values.Professional work ethic and dedication to quality outcomes.Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.Deadline-driven with excellent time management skills.Computer skills, including experience in MS Office tools.References to support experience will be an advantage.Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates in line with the company's employment equity targets.More about us:We value people from different backgrounds.
