Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor for a 6–9 month project with a prominent property management group.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of South African property regulations, experience in financial auditing, and a track record of driving results in the property management or real estate sectors.

Responsibilities Define project scope and objectives tailored to property management, identifying key areas of financial, compliance, and operational risks.
Assess the accuracy of lease agreements, tenant rental collections, and adherence to lease terms to ensure revenue reliability.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls around rent collection, property maintenance costs, and expense reporting.
Verify that all managed properties meet South African HSE standards to avoid regulatory penalties.
Identify and report on property-related financial and operational risks, including tenant default, market valuation, and maintenance obligations.
Prepare interim and final audit reports with findings, insights, and actionable recommendations for management.
Work with property managers and finance teams to implement recommended control improvements and track progress.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (CIA, CA, or CPA) advantagous 5+ years of internal auditing experience, ideally within property management or real estate sectors.
Strong understanding of South African property laws, Rental Housing Act, and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Familiarity with property management software (e.g., MDA, MRI) and proficiency in data analysis tools.
Strong problem-solving abilities to identify risks and recommend effective solutions specific to property management operations.
Excellent written and verbal skills to prepare clear reports and communicate effectively with property managers and senior stakeholders.
Meticulous in evaluating financial data, lease agreements, and regulatory compliance documentation.
High standards of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive property and financial information.
