The Royal Portfolio is seeking a strong Interior Designer (or Interior Architect) & Project Manager to work alongside our owners on renovations and new hotel projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interior design, project and construction management, leading teams to deliver a range of projects (often simultaneously) on budget and within the timeline.
This role will play a key factor in overseeing the physical growth of The Royal Portfolio - ensuring that the company delivers on it's purpose, which is "To give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay", with new offerings, for more guests, in more locations.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with owners and senior leadership to develop and execute interior design plans for hotel renovations and new hotel projectsCreate design concepts that meet project requirements, including space planning, colour schemes, lighting and furniture selectionCollaborate with architects, vendors, contractors, builders and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and budgets are metManage project schedules, budgets and deliverables, ensuring all work is completed on time and within budgetCheck quotes, bills of quantities and confirm draw downs and payments to contractorsOversee the construction and installation of all interior design elements, ensuring quality and attention to detailEnsure compliance with all building codes, regulations, and safety standardsStay up-to-date on industry trends and innovations in hospitality, interior design, architecture and constructionREQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
Tertiary qualification in Interior Design, or related field5+ years of experience in Interior/ Architectural Design and Project Management, with a focus on luxury hospitality projects Advanced drawing skills in Revit, with SketchUp, Photoshop, etc.Ability to prepare Council ready plans would be an advantageA track record of delivering projects by managing a team of multi skilled contractors Based at our head office in Claremont, Cape Town, the ability to travel to projects for extended periods of time is essentialMust have a valid SA driver's licenseIt is important that the candidate is able to work as part of a team and is a good cultural fit for The Royal Portfolio.South African citizenship is advantageous.
